Jysk distribution centre, Uldum

DS Flexhal built the extension to the Jysk distribution centre in Uldum, and was responsible for the foundation work on the concrete floor, technical installations in the new high-rise warehouse and joining and modernisation of the existing building.

The contract was signed in June 2016, work started in August 2016 and handover took place at the beginning of 2018.   

Extensive terrain regulation, compression work and pile foundation for the extension of the new distribution building was executed.

The new distribution centre is approx. 22,500 m² and in terms of design, executed in the same fashion as the existing buildings. A mezzanine floor has been built which contains: meeting rooms, offices, sample store, welfare facilities and a call centre.

The building has been built using outer concrete walls, sandwich elements and facade panels. The roof covering is executed using steel plates with high profiles and mezzanine floor as a TT floor.

The interior design of the distribution centre has been carried out and coordinated in collaboration with SSI Schäfer, which is the supplier of machinery for the logistics in the building. The concrete floors are executed on several levels, adapted for the installation of machinery and inventory.

Stringent fire safety requirements were specified – the building has a complete EFSR sprinkler system and an automatic fire alarm system has been installed. The extension of the existing central sprinkling system is included in the contract.

14,500 m² of concrete slabs for the warehouse are executed in the joint-free floor and the foundation is made of 2500 10–16 m concrete piles. The concrete slabs are cast in varying thicknesses (340–550 mm) in accordance with SSI Schäfer’s instructions to ensure that they are adjusted to suit their embedded elements for the automatic system and shelves.
