Logistics center for DSV Road A/S – with the largest green roof in Scandinavia.

DS Flexhal has built a new logistics center for DSV – Global Transport and Logistics located in Ringsted. It covers 45,011 square meters, of which 524 square meters are office space and techinal space.

Additionally, a 23,688 m² green sedum roof adorns the building’s top – making it Scandinavia’s largest. Since the area is flat and doesn’t have very good infiltration, the LAR (Local Rainwater Management) solution had to be reimagined. A sedum roof – or green roof – became the solution and contributes to reducing the percentage of paved area to 60% instead of 89%, thus complying with the applicable requirements in the local plan.

DGNB certification

The construction is aimed at achieving a DGNB Gold certification, which means DS Flexhal has had a great focus on both details and documentation. All building materials from the existing building have been sorted, and if possible, they have been broken down and reused in road infrastructure for the new logistics center.
